2020 Great Roof Giveaway

Nov 02, 2020

The winners of the 2020 GSM Great Roof Giveaway were announced during the awards portion of the Gooding Group Customer Appreciation Golf Outing on September 18, 2020 at Foxchase Golf Club in Stevens, PA.

Hempfield recCenter recently did some interior renovations, but still have some exterior/roofing repairs that are needed to protect the new interior.  GSM Roofing will supply the material and two men for two days valued at about $5,000 to make some needed repairs.

The big winner of the day was Bethel AME Church‘s Sparkman Cultural Center located at 512 E Strawberry Street in Lancaster.  This historic structure is too large to donate the entire roof.  However, the generosity abounded when $5,000 each was promised from GSM Roofing, GSM Industrial and The Gooding Group Foundation.  Reed Gooding announced that some roofing suppliers were also willing to pitch in and provide some materials to help with the project.  At that point, Matt Knouse from Performance Roofing pledged that his company will match the $15,000!  What a great response for this wonderful structure to get a new lease on its mission to help Bethel AME further their ministries which are housed in this building.

In addition to these two Great Roof Giveaway Donations, GSM Roofing also donated $10,000 to the Fulton Theatre in Lancaster.  GSM has done multiple projects at the Fulton Theatre and have realized that they are in dire straits as a result of Covid 19 putting a halt to their live performances.

Another agency that is near and dear to the heart of all of us at GSM is the Alzheimer’s Association.  A raffle at the Gooding Group Customer Appreciation Golf Outing proved the attendees to be very generous in their giving.  $2,600 was raised for the Virtual Alzheimer’s Walk held on September 26, 2020!  An additional donation from the Gooding Group Foundation of $10,000 was also donated to the Walk in memory of Mary Towers Gooding who passed away as a result of Alzheimer’s Disease in 2015.
