A Day of Sunshine, Golf, and Giving Back
On September 19, 2025, GSM Roofing once again gathered customers, vendors, and community members at Foxchase Golf Club for our annual Customer Appreciation Golf Outing. The weather could not have been better — warm, sunny skies set the stage for a day filled with camaraderie, competition, and a shared commitment to giving back.
Supporting a Cause Close to Our Hearts
This year’s outing carried special meaning. Just weeks before the event, we lost John Gooding, GSM’s second-generation owner, to dementia — a devastating disease that had already claimed the life of his wife, Mary Gooding, in 2011. Their journeys have fueled GSM’s unwavering commitment to the Alzheimer’s Association, and this year’s event was both a celebration and a tribute.
One of the most powerful moments of the day came when GSM presented the Alzheimer’s Association with a check representing more than $20,000 raised through this year’s efforts. The energy in the room was incredible — both our team and representatives from the Association were thrilled to see the community rally behind this cause.
Even more exciting, the Gooding Group Foundation announced that it would match the $20,000 raised and continue matching contributions up to $50,000 by the end of 2025. For a company of our size, this level of giving represents a remarkable collective effort, and we couldn’t be more proud.
And the momentum didn’t stop there. The very next day, a group of GSM employees laced up their sneakers and joined the Walk to End Alzheimer’s, carrying the spirit of the outing straight into the community. Together, we are determined to honor John and Mary’s legacies by helping bring hope to families impacted by this disease.
Celebrating Our 2025 Great Roof Giveaway Winner
Each year, the GSM Great Roof Giveaway allows us to provide much-needed roofing repairs to a deserving organization. This year’s winner, Latta Memorial Presbyterian Church, was awarded $13,970 worth of roof repairs — covered entirely by GSM at no cost.
The repairs will ensure the congregation no longer has to worry about leaks disrupting services and community gatherings. You can watch this video to see their story and the difference this project will make for their community.
