Walmart closed by Nor’easter reopens after help from GSM

March 2010

It was another heroic effort by GSM and our snow removal team.  We got the call at 11:30 PM on Friday night that a Walmart in Monroe, NY was shut down due to excessive snow loads (40” in most spots).  We had a first responder at the store by 3:30 AM on Saturday Morning.  By 5:00 AM we had about 50 men clearing the roof and by noon we had around 150 people clearing it.  We worked through the day and night on Saturday and by Sunday at 1:00 PM the Supercenter was cleared to open. 

You can see that we cleared 16’ paths between the column lines.
